More than a week has passed since five-star defensive back Jeffrey Okudah made a visit to Florida State for the Clemson game, and the highly touted Texas product is still raving about the trip.

Okudah, who last visited FSU during the summer, brought his mother along this time. He also took advantage of the opportunity to see more of the FSU academic programs and to get a better feeling for the relationships between Seminole coaches and players.

He said he particularly enjoyed the time he spent with defensive coordinator Charles Kelly and head coach Jimbo Fisher.

"I had a really good visit," said Okudah, who is the nation's No. 1-rated safety, according to Rivals. "I would say being around the players, talking more with Coach Kelly, Coach Fisher. And learning a lot about their academics was a big part -- to go along with the game, which was crazy. The atmosphere was just wild."

According to Okudah, his hosts for the official visit were freshman linebacker Dontavious Jackson and freshman defensive back Kyle Meyers. At this time last year, both of those players were being recruited by Florida State, so they were able to share their experiences about the transition to college. They also were able to vouch for the opportunities for early playing time at FSU -- both are playing extensively in the Seminoles' defense and on special teams.

Okudah actually already knew Jackson, who is a fellow Texan, but he also enjoyed spending time with the Lousiana native Meyers.

"Kyle was pretty cool even though that was my first time meeting him," Okudah said. "He was just telling me why he likes it so much and what makes FSU such a great place."

Academics will be a major factor in Okudah's college choice -- he plans to study business -- and he said that FSU definitely made an impression in this area.

"They have a lot of great opportunities and things that open up with their alumni, and I was very impressed with their business program and what they had to offer," Okudah said. "They showed me what advantages they have there. I liked it."
