BOX SCORE: Florida State 17, Duke 10

DURHAM, N.C. -- Freshman tailback Cam Akers broke loose for a 42-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to help Florida State knock off Duke, 17-10, and record its second victory of the season.

The Seminoles improve to 2-3 (2-2 in the ACC) while Duke falls to 4-3, 2-2.

FSU appeared to be in position to take control of the game midway through the third quarter after taking a 10-3 lead and pushing Duke back into a third-and-17 deep in its own territory. But Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones rolled to his right and found receiver T.J. Rahming wide open for a 57-yard gain. The Devils would then punch it in on a 9-yard touchdown run by Brittain Brown to tie the game at 10-10.

Florida State's offense opened the game with a beautiful drive, marching 83 yards on 12 plays. The Seminoles capped it off with a 20-yard touchdown strike from freshman quarterback James Blackman to junior receiver Auden Tate to take a 7-0 lead.

It would end up being the Seminoles' only score of the first half, however, and they held a 7-3 halftime lead following a 37-yard field goal by the Blue Devils.

Florida State extended its advantage to 10-3 midway through the third quarter with a 23-yard field goal by sophomore Ricky Aguayo.

FSU next will face Louisville at Doak Campbell Stadium next Saturday.
