With Florida State's spring football practice set to begin on Monday, March 4, we are previewing each position on offense and defense leading up to that date.

We began our previews on Monday with the Running Backs. Today's feature is on the Wide Receivers and Tight Ends.

Along with each story, there will be a video discussion featuring two of our staff members. Be sure to watch the one below featuring Ira Schoffel and Aslan Hajivandi.

If Florida State's offensive line shows improvement and gives him time to operate, new starting quarterback James Blackman will have no shortage of targets to throw to this spring.

Led by sophomore Tamorrion Terry, who hauled in eight touchdown catches a year ago, the Seminoles bring back six wide receivers and two tight ends with substantial playing experience.

The Seminoles did lose slot receiver Nyqwan Murray to graduation, and he was a big part of the offense in 2018; Murray actually led the Seminoles with 54 receptions and tied for the team high with 744 yards. Also gone is oft-injured veteran George Campbell, who recently announced he is transferring to Penn State.

But between the returning players who have contributed in the past and the younger players who have been waiting in the wings, the Seminoles are absolutely loaded with talented pass-catchers at receiver and tight end.

Returning players

For a guy that came to Florida State with very little recruiting hype and was redshirted in 2017, Tamorrion Terry couldn't have done much more to announce his presence to the college football world than he did last fall. Not only did Terry start 11 games and lead FSU with eight touchdown receptions, but he also tied for the team high with 744 receiving yards on just 35 receptions. His average of 21.3 yards per catch was more than five yards better than every other receiver on the roster. At the conclusion of the season, he received the Seminoles' Offensive MVP Award.

Along with Terry, FSU brings back two other veterans who have plenty of college experience -- senior Keith Gavin and junior D.J. Matthews. Both players were four-star recruits coming out of high school and had solid campaigns last season.

Then there is a group of underclassmen who saw some action last fall -- Keyshawn Helton, Tre'Shaun Harrison and Ontaria Wilson -- followed by three more wideouts who were redshirted in 2018 (Warren Thompson, Jordan Young and D'Marcus Adams).

At tight end, starter Tre' McKitty returns for his junior year and will be backed up by senior Gabe Nabers, sophomore Camren McDonald and sophomore Alex Marshall.
