Four-star offensive tackle Da'Ron Parks was one of several prospects to attend FSU's football practice on Thursday. Parks, who is a Rivals250 prospect and is rated as the 16th-best offensive tackle prospect in the class of 2026, is spending two days in Tallahassee to visit with head coach Mike Norvell and offensive line coach Herb Hand. He spoke with the Osceola on Thursday evening about his experience watching the Seminoles practice and where his recruitment stands heading into April.
"Me and Coach Hand had a great relationship (when he was at UCF)," said Parks of Hand. "He started recruiting about a year and a half ago. So, me and him have been talking a lot ever since then. The same with Coach Gus (Malzahn). They were really hard recruiting me at UCF and then seeing them come here to Florida State, where they're also recruiting me very hard, it's the same, consistent, they are very consistent. That's something I like."
The Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney product also spoke about Hand's coaching style.
"I love it," continued Parks. "It's hands on, he understands, he doesn't coach everybody the same, I am not saying that in a bad way, but people take things differently so he coaches people differently."
Parks was also asked about the programs outside of FSU that were pushing hard to land his commitment and signature later this year. He said that list includes Ohio State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Louisville, Miami and Auburn. Parks also stated that if the second day (Friday) goes well that he will more likely than not set up an official visit with FSU for later this summer and that he currently plans to come back to Tallahassee for the Seminoles’ season opener vs. Alabama this fall.
He also stated that he is being recruited by FSU as an offensive tackle but that moving to guard was a possibility once he gets to college.
As Parks' official visit calendar currently stands, he has trips planned to Auburn, Penn State and Kentucky beginning in late May.
