UA Insider: FSU commits Laborn, Kaindoh shine; other targets talk 'Noles
ORLANDO -- Team Armour got the bragging rights in Sunday's Under Armour All-America Game with a 24-21 victory over Team Highlight. From an individual standpoint, a pair of Florida State commitments -- tailback Khalan Laborn and defensive end Josh Kaindoh -- also put on a show.
Laborn was named MVP for Team Highlight, and Kaindoh was downright unblockable for the entire game. Here's a look at how both of those players did, as well as a rundown of the Seminoles' other key targets.
Laborn gets the offense cranked up
Because it was an all-star game filled with some of the best talent in the country, Khalan Laborn was forced to rotate with other tailbacks in Sunday's All-America Game. But the Florida State commitment took full advantage of every rep he saw.
Laborn finished with 77 yards rushing on just eight carries and scored on a 21-yard touchdown in the first half.
Laborn was excited about his performance, but he said the key was just relaxing and not thinking about playing on a national stage. The game was broadcast live on ESPN.
"I had a lot of fun. I was very comfortable," Laborn said. "I just had to be patient and wait for the blocks to open up. I saw a lot of players shift on the line, and I just went the opposite way. I didn't have to do a lot of cut-backs today. I had to rep for the 757 area in Virginia and 'Nole Nation."
On his touchdown run, Laborn broke to the outside, juked one defender and then out-raced the Team Armour defense to the corner of the end zone.
"I just had to make one cut, so really all I saw was green grass," he said. "And I know when I'm in that situation, I'm going to take that TD."
The four-star running back also was quick to give respect to the Florida State Seminoles after their Orange Bowl win over Michigan.
