Four-star OT Tavaris Dice talks offer, recaps first FSU visit

Florida State extended an offer to Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes offensive tackle Tavaris Dice during his unofficial visit on Saturday.

The four-star prospect now holds 27 offers with the addition of his offer from Florida State. Other programs to have offered Dice include Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Miami, LSU, Missouri, USC, Louisville, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.

"It felt good to get the offer," Dice said about the offer. "The Seminoles had a real good season despite how the CFP did them. Coach Norvell, he's making real big changes with the program. Being a part of this program, I know it would be a good fit."

Despite being relatively close to home, Saturday's visit was the first that Dice had made to Florida State.

"The visit went good," Dice said. "Coach Norvell is real electric. We had a good day today. He told me a lot of good stuff about the program. I also got an offer today so I'm feeling good about the program."

With this visit, Dice got to spend time with coaching staff and in particular, get to further his relationship with offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

"I've known Coach Atkins for a long time," Dice said. "I've got a really good relationship with him. He told me a lot of real life experiences today. He helped me on and off the field, so I respect him a lot for that."

With his visit on Saturday, Florida State has elevated their position with Dice and he plans to be back sooner rather than later.

"I'm gonna be back real soon. I don't know a date right now but I know for sure that the Seminoles are close to being one of my top teams right now," Dice said.

Auburn, Missouri, Arkansas, Florida and now Florida State are schools that have stood out to Dice thus far into the recruiting process.

Dice said that he plans to take an official visit to Florida State but might take another unofficial visit in between now and then. He doesn't have a timeline yet for his recruitment but like his return to Florida State, it will be soon.
