He was one of the last players in the country to announce his college decision on National Signing Day, but nobody on Florida State's coaching staff is complaining.

Marvin Wilson, the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle and No. 2 player overall, announced on ESPN2 late Wednesday afternoon that he had chosen Florida State over LSU, Ohio State and others.

With the addition of Wilson, FSU is expected to finish with yet another top-five signing class under Jimbo Fisher. The Seminoles have finished in the top 10 for all eight of Fisher's classes, and this is the fifth time they'll be in the top five.

Wilson also gives Florida State four five-star prospects in this class, as well as three of the top five players in the Rivals100 rankings. That is the first time any school has snared three of the top five.

Although many predicted the Houston, Texas, product would stay closer to home and attend LSU, Wilson raved about Florida State every time he was on campus. One of more memorable visits was during the Seminoles' home game against Clemson this past fall.

"Being here, picturing myself here and winning," Wilson said of that trip. "I've come here a lot but didn't get a chance to hang out with the players because it was the spring. This was the first time in season. It's really special here, man."

Wilson, who is extremely quick for his size (6-foot-4, 320 pounds), also developed a strong relationship with FSU defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins. That was believed to be one of the keys to his recruitment.

"What stands out is he's a good dude," Wilson told Warchant earlier in the process. "Before he's a great coach, he's a great man. My mom likes him a lot, and she trusts him a lot. So we are moving in a good way with him."
