It's no secret that Florida State was looking to make a splash during these final two weekends of the recruiting cycle to round out out its 2016 class.

New Orleans athlete Clifford Chattman gave the 'Noles just that when he jumped on board and committed right after his official visit. Chattman becomes the 19th commitment in the 2016 class for FSU and the second from the New Orleans area.

He saw all he needed to see after his visit this weekend. The pick wasn't really a shocker, considering how much of a priority the 'Noles made Chattman. Jimbo Fisher, Charles Kelly and Randy Sanders all made an in-home visit with him earlier this week.

"I chose FSU because it was a great fit for me. We talked about playing me as an athlete," Chattman said.

The main schools in the mix were Arizona, Southern Cal and South Carolina. But things heated up with Florida State once the 'Noles extended an offer a few weeks ago. Chattman liked what FSU had to offer as program and immediately set up an official visit to check out the school in person.

Main recruiter Randy Sanders played a large role in the decision, along with Charles Kelly, who helped reel in the talented athlete.

Once he arrives in June, Chattman is expected to work out at the linebacker or safety position at Florida State.

He is a teammate of DT Stephon Taylor, who also visited officially this weekend and has the 'Noles right at the top of his list with Texas. Taylor hasn't named a timeline on his decision yet.
