Florida State had already positioned themselves pretty well for the 2018 offensive line class with pick-ups from Christian Meadows, and more recently Christian Armstrong. The 'Noles got even stronger on Friday when IMG Academy Rivals250 standout OL Verdis Brown announced his commitment on Twitter.

Brown had expressed a strong interest in Florida State but how close he was to committing was unknown. Those questions were answered clearly following multi-day day visit to FSU this week. The four-star lineman becomes the Seminoles' 13th commitment for the 2018 class.

Brown chose the 'Noles over some heavy-hitters including LSU, Ohio State, Miami, Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, along with several others. He had already developed quite the bond with the FSU staff even before the visit.

"It's a family there and I have a great relationship with the entire staff," Brown said recently. "So my interest is pretty high."

Brown's commitment gives FSU three offensive lineman commitments for the upcoming class. With a goal of four-to-five in this class, the 'Noles appear to be on schedule. Another positive for FSU is that his close friend, defensive back Houston Griffith, is also strongly considering the Seminoles. Griffith visited FSU in June with his family and stated that he will visit again this summer.
