Florida State is certainly making the Gainesville (Fla.) area its recruiting home lately. Just a week ago, the 'Noles landed DT Cory Durden out of Newberry, who joined his teammate, Rivals100 DT Jalen Parks, who is also committed to Florida State. Warchant.com has now learned that Florida State has picked up a commitment from another talented gem from the area.

This time it's from the 2018 class in bruising big back/fullback Charles Strong out of P.K. Yonge high school.

"It's always been the team I love in FSU," Strong said. "Every time they play, I watch them. It's one of my dreams to play at FSU, and my dream has come true. I followed my heart and where I wanted to be. I was really comfortable at Junior Day."

According to Strong, he will play running back and fullback at FSU.

Strong, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound chiseled big back, attended the FSU junior day on February 20, but he didn't share a lot about the experience except to say, "This was a very good visit for me. I felt really at home with the FSU staff. I had a great time."

Now we know why he was a little quiet about that excitement of the visit as he has committed to Florida State. As a sophomore at P.K. Yonge, he rushed for 476 yards and nine touchdowns.

Strong is the first commitment in the 2018 class for the Seminoles, and he will be used as a big back or fullback in the FSU offense.

"I am so happy to announce that I verbally committed to Florida state," Strong said.
