FSU leading the way for sleeper OL after visit

Like many recruits, Ryan Wischnefski is waiting for his favorite team to offer a scholarship. Over the weekend, the 6-foot-3, 320-pound center took his official visit to Florida State. The 'Noles have yet to offer a scholarship, but if and when they do, Wischnefski says he will be a member of the 2006 recruiting class.
"It would be tough to turn it down," said Wischnefski. "It was a real good visit. I enjoyed everything. I really like the football stuff and how it's in one central area. The practice field is 50 yards away and the dorms are in walking distance."

Wischnefski said he was hosted over the weekend by walk-on Pat Davis and had a chance to sit down with both Mark McHale and Bobby Bowden.
"They told me that if I went there that I would have to do it as a center," he said. "Bobby Bowden said that since I don't have a scholarship that hopefully he'll give me one if other offensive lineman commit to other schools. Coach Sexton said he'll be in touch with me about the situation and let me know how everything is going."
The Melbourne native just recently received an offer from NC State and will visit FAU next weekend. He is hoping to make a decision shortly after the 27th of January and is hopeful the 'Noles will come around by then.
"FSU is my top school, then NC State," said Wischnefski. "My family enjoyed it. They were very impressed with everything."
Wischnefski said he didn't have a chance to hang out and talk with many of the other recruits, only to talk about the past season.
Wischnefski put himself on the map over the summer by checking in at 6-foot-3, 320 pounds at a combine and running the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds while recording a 28-inch vertical leap.
