Florida State's defense keeps getting stronger.
The Seminoles bolstered its 2014 crop, picking up a commitment from Jacksonville Sandalwood (Fla.) defensive end Blake McClain on Wednesday morning.
McClain, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound end, becomes the sixth overall commitment in FSU's 2014 class, the first defensive end in the group and the second defensive lineman, joining defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas.
McClain currently holds offers from Alabama, Auburn and Florida among others. McClain said he was close to a pledge with the 'Noles during his Junior Day visit last month.
"I was this close," McClain said, holding up two fingers during a post-visit interiview on Feb. 16. My favorite part had to be the housing. It was just unexpected how they (FSU) had it set up, wow."
McClain is also teammates with 2014 inside linebacker Kain Daub, who is rated as the No. 60 overall player in the class. Florida State also picked up another Sandalwood defensive end prospect this past year when it landed early enrollee DeMarcus Walker.
