There's very little Rivals250 quarterback Jayden Daniels can't do on the football field, and he showed that as a junior by throwing for more than 5,000 yards and 62 touchdowns. Daniels also rushed for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns.
So there's no doubting that Florida State head coach Willie Taggart wanted to make a big splash on Daniels' first unofficial visit to Tallahassee. And from the sounds of things, Taggart and the Seminoles did just that.
The four-star quarterback from San Bernardino, Calif., made the trip with his mother, and he said they were both impressed by what they saw.
"I really liked it a lot," Daniels said. "The visit exceeded my expectations for sure. The practice was very good. The tempo is what I'm used to with the speed. I really like what they do with their quarterbacks in this offense. I watched James Blackman and Deondre Francois a lot."
Daniels also got a chance to watch FSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Walt Bell in action. Both on the field and in the meeting rooms.
"Me and Coach Bell, along with my mom, were in a meeting, and we were going over the concepts ... breaking things down," Daniels said. "But a lot of it was about making life decisions. My mom was pretty comfortable with Coach Taggart and Coach Bell, as she spent most of the day with them."
Daniels, along with a pair of other California standouts -- RB Sean Dollars and DB Jeremiah Criddell -- spent a day and a half at Florida State. For Daniels, the visit also provided him an opportunity to sit down with Willie Taggart.
"It was a great conversation with Coach Taggart," he said. "It was more than just football. It was about family, and life after football."
Daniels, who has known Taggart since last summer, said there wasn't a detailed discussion about how he would be used in the FSU offense. But Taggart has made it clear to Daniels that he loves his skill set.
