Impact Analysis: 4-star commit Corbin gives FSU options for '18 class

Although his commitment might have come as a surprise to some -- considering it came less than a week after he backed out of a previous commitment to Tennessee -- the truth is Jashaun Corbin has been dreaming of this moment for years.

The Melbourne, Fla., product grew up a fan of the Florida State Seminoles, and once he saw how badly Jimbo Fisher's staff wanted him to join their squad, the decision was easy.

"It's a special place," the versatile four-star athlete said. "You feel that anytime you are around the players. I've felt like I've known for a while in my heart this is where I wanted to be. But I think it was after I committed (to Tennessee) and how FSU still pushed even harder, it told me where I knew I wanted to be."

Corbin said he was actually still on Tennessee's campus when he made his original commitment last month, and he said FSU assistant coach Rick Trickett immediately let him know that the Seminoles weren't about to give up.

"When I talked with Coach Trickett, he said, 'We are going to come even harder after you now,'" Corbin recalled. "He said Coach Fisher was devastated by the news and that they weren't letting up. Plus to see Coach Fisher personally recruit you as a player, or as hard as he has, tells me all I need to know how wanted I was."
