Florida State is looking to land three or four linebackers in the 2017 class, and the Seminoles got a big jolt on Friday when former four-star linebacker Adonis Thomas announced he has committed to Florida State over Kentucky, Ole Miss and others.

Thomas, a 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, originally signed with Alabama out of Central Gwinnett (Ga.) High. As a senior in high school, he racked up 124 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and five sacks.

This season for Northwest Mississippi Community College, he had 73 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one interception, which he returned 56 yards for a score.

Thomas' high school coaches have told Warchant.com that the linebacker already has signed his Letter of Intent with Florida State.
