The 5'9", 160-pound place-kicker will likely be responsible for kickoffs next year while Xavier Beitia, who will be a junior in 2003, will continue to handle extra points and field goals.
Entering his senior season, Goggans made 26 field goals out of 36 attempts with a long of 54 yards in his career. He also has 15 field goals more than 40 yards and is 55 for 57 on his point-after attempts and 75 percent of his kickoffs reach the end zone.
Goggans was also looking at Georgia, East Carolina, Michigan, and Texas. He joins Marcus Thomas - DL (6-3/280) from Jacksonville, FL (Mandarin), John Frady - OL (6-4/275) from Jacksonville, FL (Bolles) and Chauncey Davis - DE (6-2/260) from Ellisville, MS (Jones JC) as early commitments for the class of 2003.
