Friday was a hot day for Florida State on the recruiting trail. The Seminoles landed their second commitment of the day when Rivals100 running back Ryan Green of St. Petersburg Catholic pledged to FSU coach Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles. Green spoke with Warchant.com after the commitment.
"I actually knew the first day I was there at the camp for FSU," Green said. "I just wanted to wait to make sure I felt the same way when I left the campus. I just told my Mom and Dad, I'm ready to be a Seminole."
Green was in town for Florida State's camp this week, getting into town on Wednesday and working out during the camp on Thursday. He was a standout among a talented crop of running backs at the camp.
Green stated several times FSU's offense was a good fit for him and he wouldn't have a hard time getting acquainted to the scheme. However, at the end of the day it was the Florida State staff as a whole, especially running backs coach Eddie Gran that made the difference.
"Coach Gran had a big impact on the decision," Green said. "I just always feel comfortable learning from him as he's one of the best around. I felt so comfortable around Coach Dawsey and Coach Fisher. I really feel at home when I'm there in every possible way. I'm just glad recruiting is over for me. I'm a Seminole."
