During his four years at Florida State, defensive coordinator Charles Kelly has shown an ability to identify top talent at defensive back -- even when the prospects aren't necessarily the highest-rated players at their positions.

In 2013, Kelly and former defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt recruited and eventually signed Marquez White, who at the time was rated the nation's 28th best cornerback. White now is a two-year starter and likely will be one of the country's top defensive backs this fall.

In 2015, Kelly landed defensive back Marcus Lewis out of Washington, D.C., on signing day. Lewis was rated highly as a safety, but one year later he is competing with former five-star recruit Tarvarus McFadden for a starting cornerback job.

Now, Kelly and the Seminoles are looking for the same type of success with Becker, who has shown a similar skill set to that of White coming out of high school. The three-star prospect from Kissimmee Osceola boasts impressive speed and length, and he also has displayed plenty of playmaking ability.

After checking out FSU's spring game in Orlando in person, Becker believes he will have an opportunity to make an early impact with the Seminoles.

"I have a chance to come up there and compete for a starting spot," Becker said. "The defense looked really good. Watching the practices and spring game, it looked like our schemes (at Osceola). Coach Kelly said I can play corner or safety. I like corner the best, but it doesn't matter."
