No college football program lands every top prospect it wants in a given recruiting cycle. But what if Florida State did just that? What if Jimbo Fisher and his staff landed their top realistic prospects at every position for the 2018 class?

Just for fun, we decided to take a look at what a "perfect" class for the Seminoles might look like -- based on the offers and targets that we know about today (on May 22, 2017). Keep in mind, this isn't a complete breakdown of every single prospect that FSU is involved with or a prediction of what we believe will happen.

Quarterback - 1

FSU is talking with several quarterbacks for this class, but we believe Justin Fields is the top option for the 'Noles and the one they are pushing for the hardest. Fields is considered a soft verbal to Penn State at this time. Florida, Georgia and Auburn are also in the running, with the Gators selling the possibility of early playing time. While that has to be appealing, we hear some in his family prefer FSU because of how Fisher prepares quarterbacks for the NFL.

Other top prospects:

Jarren Williams just re-committed to Kentucky, but we wouldn't close the door completely as we hear the 'Noles are still hoping to get a summer visit. Before he committed again to the 'Cats, we heard FSU was the one team that Williams would seriously consider, so that's something to watch going forward.

Tyler Shough is the newest offer, and while most people think Michigan has the edge, we are told Shough has very legit interest in the 'Noles. He has some connections to FSU, and Shough also told Warchant that he plans to throw for Fisher this summer. So we should know more then.

The same can be said for Jace Ruder, who picked up an offer in May after the staff got a chance to evaluate him. He visits this summer and recently opened up his recruitment after offers from FSU, UNC and Georgia. The Tar Heels and 'Noles seem to have his attention the most right now.
