Two of the best players at their positions in Florida State history are on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame.

Running back Warrick Dunn and wide receiver Peter Warrick are among the 78 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 101 players and 32 coaches from the divisional ranks.

Dunn helped FSU to the 1993 national championship. He was a first-team All-ACC performer, a first-team All-American in 1996 and ran for more than 1,000 yards in three straight seasons (1994-96). Dunn had 3,959 rushing yards and 1,314 receiving yards in his FSU career.

Warrick was a consensus All-American in 1998 and unanimous All-American in 1999, helping the Seminoles claim the 1999 national title. A two-time first-team All-ACC pick, Warrick had 3,517 receiving yards and 32 receiving touchdowns.

Ron Sellers, Fred Biletnikoff, Charlie Ward, Ron Simmons, Deion Sanders, Derrick Brooks, Terrell Buckley, Marvin Jones and coaches Bobby Bowden and Darrell Mudra have previously been inducted. Jones was inducted in 2022.

To be eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame, players must have received first-team All-America recognition, be 10 years removed from their final college football season and have completed their professional football career. The evaluation also includes candidates’ records as a citizen and academic honors.

“Having a ballot and a voice in the selection of the College Football Hall of Fame inductees is one of the most cherished NFF member benefits,” said NFF Chairman Archie Manning, a 1989 Hall of Fame inductee from Mississippi. “There is no group more knowledgeable or passionate about college football than our membership, and the tradition of the ballot helps us engage them in the lofty responsibility of selecting those who have reached the pinnacle of achievement in our sport.”

The announcement of the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2024, with specific details to be announced in the future.
