He may not be a well known name, but 2017 linebacker Vandarius Cowan's stock is quickly rising. He has offers from Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame and West Virginia.
The 6-foot-4, 210 pound prospect from Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) committed to Florida State on Thursday morning while participating in the Jimbo Fisher Camp.
"I committed to FSU," he said.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker from Palm Beach Gardens High School is the first linebacker from the class of 2017 to pledge to the Seminoles. He spent much of the first day of camp working with FSU's assistants, including linebackers coach Bill Miller.
"Coach Miller was tremendous. He had me do things I've never done before and I really learned so much from this camp," Cowan told Warchant.com on Wednesday. "It was a very unique experience for me out there. He had me realize small mistakes I was making that I didn't know and it helped a lot."
On Wednesday, he hinted a commitment could come the following day.
"I'm also going to talk with Coach Fisher about something and see what happens," Cowan said Wednesday.
He is FSU's fourth commitment for the 2017 class, joining D.J. Matthews, Ja'len Parks and Zaquandre White.
