In the Warchant.com Fan Poll Williams ceived 435 out of 1551 votes (28%). Tra Thomas came in second with 26% of the vote followed by Walter Jones who had 25% of the vote.
When 73-year old coaching legend Bobby Bowden calls Williams "as good an offensive linemen as we have ever had at Florida State" you listen. In his fshman year the Kissimmee native took over for an injud Ross Brannon. He went on to start seven games that season including a dominating performance over All-American Alex Brown in the Florida game. In his next game for the national championship versus Virginia Tech, he peated his performance and easily handled All-American Cory Moo. That helped FSU earn its second national championship. He also earned fshman All-American honors that season.
Williams went on to become a ra four-year starter on the offensive line and started 40 straight games befo his college caer came to an end. He was named to All-American lists in both his junior and senior seasons. He also won the Jacob Blocking Trophy in 2001 and 2002 given to the ACC's top offensive lineman.
In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Williams was always one of the team's leaders. He was named a team captain by Bobby Bowden for the 2002 season.
The former high school and college All-American hopes to continue his success at the next level for the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams was drafted in the 4th round and will learn his craft behind 11-year NFL veteran lineman Willie Roaf.
