The 2018 defensive tackle gave a verbal commitment on Twitter on Thursday evening.

The 6-foot-2 and 350-pound Cooper currently plays for Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett in the metro Atlanta area.

Cooper's stock has risen as of late. He's received offers from Michigan, Mississippi State and Notre Dame.

His verbal affirmation adds to what's been a busy yet fruitful week for Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff.

"It's amazing to be a 'Nole," Cooper said. "Being a part of the legendary program and being coached by the best coaches in college football. I'm really excited about it. They always kept it real with me and I feel like this is the best fit for me."

Cooper also had high praise for FSU defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins and talked about the fact that he's 370 pounds and has unique ability at that size.

"Yeah, I'm not that normal 370-pound guy you see every day," Cooper said. "It's just that I run and lift weights a lot. With Coach Odell, I trust everything he tells me and because of his results with other DL that's in the league."

FSU received a commitment from legacy and 2017 defensive back Stanford Samuels earlier in the day. On Wednesday, the Seminoles grabbed a commitment from 2017 defensive back Daniel Wright, who is also from South Florida.

The week began with 2018 defensive back Isaiah Bolden also committing to FSU.
