KEVIN ADAMS LB, 6-1, 215 LaGrange High School Lake Charles, La.-

Received all-district and academic all-state honors as a senior ... also played during his junior and senior seasons as a fullback, and rushed for an average of 1,500 yards a year ... saw limited action on defense in high school ... runs the 40 in 4.7 seconds ... also hurled the shot and discus for the track team ... carries a 3.7 GPA out of high school ... an engineering major who chose FSU over West Point, Tulane, Arkansas, Texas A&M and NC State.

The 1989 Tallahassee Democrat Player of the Year... invited to play in the Florida-Georgia All-Star game ... as a receiver, caught 33 passes for 567 yards and eight touchdowns ... as a defensive back, made 36 tackles, broke up 11 passes and had three interceptions his senior season ... totalled eight INTs his junior year ... also a punt/kick return specialist with 489 yards on 33 returns ... runs a 4.4 in the 40 ... chose FSU over Florida.

STEVE GILMER DR, 5-11, 185 Godby High School Tallahassee, Fla.-

Rated the eighth best tight end in the country by recruiting experts ... second team all-state and all-South selection ... an all-Dade County selection in 1989...caught 29 passes for 394 yards and six touchdowns his senior season ... a power forward in basketball ... also competed in the hurdles and high jump for the track team.

MARVIN JONES LB, 6-2, 225 Northwestern High School Miami, Fla.-

The top outside linebacking recruit in the country in 1990 ... also rated the top prospect in the South and the fifth-rated high school player in the nation ... a USA Today and Parade All-American ... invited to participate in the Florida-Georgia All-Star game ... made 121 tackles in only six and a half games, including 77 solos and five sacks his senior year ... averaged 18 tackles per game during his junior year ... brother of former Seminole Fred Jones ... runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds.

KEZ McCORVEY WR, 6-1, 180 Pascagoula High School Pascagoula, Miss.-

Received all-district and honorable mention all-state honors in 1989 after a stellar senior season ... caught 29 passes for 316 yards and seven touchdowns ... also returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown ... chosen to play in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game ... during his junior and sophomore seasons, caught nine passes for 156 yards in an offense that concentrated on a running game ... a three-year letterman who helped lead the team to the state championship as a sophomore ... had a 3.6 GPA throughout high school ... chose FSU over Tulane, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn and Alabama ... cousin of current FSU defensive back Errol McCorvey.

Class AAA all-state selection ... earned honorable mention all-South honors and was invited to play in the Florida-Georgia game last summer ... gained 3,684 career yards, including 1,925 his senior season, breaking the school record ... scored 24 touchdowns while leading his team to a 10-0 record ... considered one of the state's best running backs, quick and strong on inside runs ... chose FSU over Notre Dame, Florida, Syracuse and Georgia Tech ... another good student with a 3.0 GPA in high school.

PATRICK McNEIL OL, 6-3, 275 Manatee High School Bradenton, Fla.-

Named to the 5A first team all-state squad, the all-South team and the Tampa Tribune's 36 football blue chippers list ... selected to play in the Florida-Georgia All-Star game over the summer ... rated the nation's top offensive lineman ... although he wasn't switched to the offensive line until his senior season, he is considered the best offensive lineman in Manatee history ... chose FSU over Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, and Georgia.

DAN MOWREY K/P, 5-10, 165 Lincoln High School Tallahassee, Fla.-

The 4A all-state kicker in 1990 who could have an enormous impact for the Seminoles as a freshman ... invited to play in the Florida North-South All-star game ... during his senior season, kicked field goals of 50, 51, and 53 yards ... made 10 of 13 field goals and 34 of 35 extra points in 1989 ... averaged 39.7 yards a punt ... scored 67 points ... 38 of 51 kickoffs reached the end zone ... chose FSU over Florida ... one of three Tallahassee high school products to sign with FSU in 1990.

JAMES ROBERSON LB, 6-4, 225 Lake Wales High School Lake Wales, Fla.-

Selected to the first-team all-state squad as a senior ... the sixth-rated outside linebacking prospect in the country in 1990 ... the Lake Wales Daily Highlander's Linebacker and Offensive Lineman of the Year ... credited with 21 tackles, 27 assists and three sacks as a linebacker his senior season ... as a tight end, made touchdown grabs of 34 and 74 yards and caught two extra points ... served as team captain in 1989 ... invited to participate in the Florida-Georgia All Star game ... runs 4.5 in the 40 ... originally committed to Florida before deciding on FSU.

CORRY SAWYER DB, 5-11, 175 Key West High School Key West Fla.-

First team 3A all-state selection in 1989 ... one of six Parade All-Americans to sign with FSU in 1990 ... played primarily as a quarterback in high school ... rushed for 1,783 yards and passed for 1,384 yards during his career ... broke George Mira's record for total offensive career yards ... invited to play in the Florida-Georgia All-Star game ... played defense only in playoff games his junior and senior seasons, but intercepted three passes.

ERIC SMITH LB, 5-11, 2 10 Suwannee County High School Live Oak, Fla.-

Earned first team all-state honors in 1990 ... named to the all-Gainesville Sun, Tallahassee Democrat all-Big Bend, and the Florida Times Union Super 24 teams ... played on two 3A state championship teams ... selected to play in the Florida North-South All-Star game ... his senior season, made 83 tackles and caught 13 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns ... led his high school team to the state championship in 1990 with 14 tackles and two sacks in that game.

CHRIS WEINKE QB, 6-5, 205 Cretin-Derham Hall High School St. Paul, Minn.-

One of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation in 1989 who was recruited by more than 70 Division I schools ... a USA Today and Parade All-America choice ... passed for 3,956 yards and 24 touchdowns in 21 career games ... his senior year, completed 121 of 216 passes for 1,579 yards and 12 touchdowns ... as a junior, completed 106 of 187 passes for 2,377 yards and 12 touchdowns ... has great arm strength, release and intelligence ... a baseball third baseman who was drafted in the second round of the amateur baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays ... played on the U.S. Junior Olympic Team last summer ... left-handed power hitter who hit. 378 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 25 games with that team ... led his high school baseball team to Class AA State championship his junior year ... also captained the school's hockey team ... chose FSU over Alabama, Arizona State, Illinois Minnesota and Miami ... compiled a 3.1 grade point average in high school.
