Florida State is already off to a strong start for the 2019 class and that group got even stronger on Friday. Palm Beach Central 2019 defensive back Akeem Dent, younger cousin of former FSU player Greg Dent, committed to the Seminoles after participating in the final session of the Jimbo Fisher camp.

Sometimes you just know when the time is right and Dent knew it was Friday when he announced his commitment to Florida State. The former Miami commitment made it clear that he plans to play his college ball in Tallahassee.

"Yes I committed to Florida State," he said. "I felt very comfortable with them and I know they are going to get me ready for the league."

Working out at the Fisher Camp the week solidified his feelings towards the coaching staff and the Seminoles.

"I had a good time. This visit was different because I could spend time with the players," said Dent. "On the camp Coach Kelly help me be a little more smooth with my technique. I felt I had a great day."

"It feels like family here," added Dent. "I know James pretty well. We mostly talked about Pahokee."

Dent, a four-star prospect, gives FSU its 7th pledge for the 2019 recruiting class.
