Versatile Alabama lineman Woody commits to FSU Football

Some college football coaches and recruiting analysts believe Antavious Woody's future is brightest on the offensive line, while others believe he will be a standout defensive linemen.

Time will tell on that, but one thing now appears certain -- that future will take place at Florida State. The four-star lineman announced his commitment to the Seminoles on Monday.

Woody is expected to focus on the offensive line at Florida State, and he says FSU likes him as an offensive tackle. He is the fifth commitment for the Seminoles in the last three days — all five were official visitors this past weekend.

The Alabama product hinted that he was ready to make a commitment when leaving FSU on Sunday.

Woody is rated the No. 5 player in the state of Alabama and has been dominant in several camp settings this year. He holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Tennessee and many others.

In April, after he won Defensive Line MVP honors at the Rivals camp in Atlanta, Woody explained why he was so interested in FSU.

"I love the Seminoles," he said. "Coach Atkins has been on me from the very start. We talk a lot, and our conversations are very direct, but not always football. ... They like me at offensive tackle. I like it a lot. I love the position because it shows you a big guy can move and make an impact for the offense."

Woody is FSU's 14th commitment for the Class of 2020, and the Seminoles' class now ranks No. 3 nationally.
