Florida State has been one of the hottest teams in the country when it comes to recruiting for the Class of 2022, with a slew of recent commitments and a top-five national ranking.
But there is plenty of work to be done, as the Seminoles look to round out their class with several more highly rated prospects.
With that in mind, here is our latest "12 to Watch" feature, looking at some of the top targets on the Seminoles' board, where FSU stands with each and what the competition looks like.

TWELVE TARGETS TO WATCH FOR FSU IN 2022
The Skinny on Barnes & FSU; Why he's on the 12 targets to watch
It's amazing how things can change quickly in recruiting. Jovantae Barnes pulled a surprise and attended FSU's Midnight Madness event on June 1 and stayed throughout the following day before heading back home. But the good vibes don't stop there. Barnes has a really close relationship with FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham. Per sources, Dillingham was the first to offer Barnes when he was an assistant coach at Auburn, so the ties are deep there.
In addition, Barnes is originally from the state of Florida. His family moved from Florida to Texas and now Las Vegas. But the majority of his family, I'm told, is from the Sunshine State, so that helps Florida State's cause as well. In addition, I believe that Barnes is the highest-rated back on the board for FSU. I also expect a return trip to Tallahassee later this summer. All these things move Barnes into our 12 to watch. Oklahoma remains the biggest threat here.
The Skinny on Glover & FSU; Why he's on the 12 targets to watch
All of Jaylon Glover's official visits are done now as he has taken trips to South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Georgia Tech and FSU. I would suspect that a decision could come before the season starts, but I haven't been given an exact date on that. My guess is it will be sometime in July. I have had my Forecast on FSU here for a while, and I'm not changing that going into this final decision. I think FSU really loves the skills and person Glover is, and they have never slowed down the pursuit. Georgia Tech might have a slight edge in academics, but Glover seems comfortable with FSU in that area as well.
Now, I do not think it's a slam dunk for the 'Noles, and GT is the biggest competition. But I still like FSU's chances to win out. A dark horse might be Utah or UF, with the Gators trying to make a late push. But I get the impression the push from Florida is more about having a backup plan.
