Scouting Report for the Seminoles' seven early enrollees

The Florida State Seminoles have been making a lot of waves with their 2017 recruiting class, which now ranks as the No. 8 class in the country and rising. That's exciting enough, but the 'Noles also have one of the strongest early enrollee groups they've had under Jimbo Fisher.

As school begins this week, FSU has seven new players on campus -- six who graduated high school early and one who graduated in December from junior college. Here's a look at each of the seven newest Seminoles.

With Dalvin Cook heading to the NFL, the door opens widely for Akers, who is an explosive and physical runner.

The Skinny on RB Cam Akers and his freshman season

Akers has the natural running ability to be a big-play threat, and he already has the body to see the field early in college. He might not win the starting job -- FSU returns junior Jacques Patrick and several backups -- but there's a very good chance you will see Akers in the rotation. The key for Akers, as it was for Devonta Freeman, Cook and others, is to learn the blocking assignments on passing downs.
