OnFriday,TarvarusMcFaddenmadeitthree.
DuringaceremonyfromAmericanHeritageHighSchoolinPlantation,Fla.,thenation'sNo.4ratedcornerbackannouncedhewasTallahasseebound.HepickedFloridaStateoverGeorgiaandLSU.
"I'mspendingthenextthreeorfouryearsatFSU,"saidMcFadden,ashepulledanFSUhatfromunderatable.
The6-foot-2,195-pounddefensivebackpickedFridaytoannouncehisdecisionbecauseOct.31isseniornightforhisschool,wheretheseniorsonthefootballteamarehonoredduringthegame.
HetookanofficialvisittoFSUearlierthismonthwithhisfamilyduringtheNotreDamegameweekend.ThattripsealedthedealfortheSeminoles.
"Itwasagreatgame,thestadiumwasrocking,"hesaid."ItwasmyfirsttimeattendingagamethereandIenjoyedbeingapartoftheatmosphere.Itwasagoodexperience,"hetoldWarchant.comafterthevisit."FloridaStatehasagreatcoachingstaffandatmosphere,"hesaid."Ireallyenjoyedmyvisit.Myfamilylikedit,too."
McFaddentookahardlookatGeorgiabutthedifferenceforFSUwasthecloserelationshiphebuiltwiththecoachingstaff.ThatincludedasolidbondwithdefensivecoordinatorCharlesKellyandlinebackerscoachBillMiller,whorecruitsthearea.
"OutofalltheschoolstherewasjustsomethingabotFSU,"saidMcFadden."Ijustfeltthemostcomfortable."
McFaddenfillsabigneedatcornerbackwiththepossibledeparturesofjuniorsRonaldDarbyandP.J.WilliamstoNFL,andthegraduationofkeybackupNickWaisome.
