On the eve of Florida State's first home game of the season, the Seminoles picked up their 20th commitment. Rivals100 wide receiver George Campbell of East Lake (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) announced that he was headed to Florida State. He picked the 'Noles over Florida and LSU.
"I'm officially committing to Florida State University," he said during his television announcement.
The versatile Rivals100 prospect (6-3, 183) joins current wide receiver commitments Nyqwan Murray and Auden Tate in the 2015 class. The addition of Campbell not only gives the 'Noles more speed, but it also gives them a weapon with his athletic ability and height.
As a junior, Campbell had 31 catches for 769 yards and seven touchdowns. He also finished with 29 tackles, eight sacks and four pass break-ups as a defensive end and safety.
Campbell is rated No. 10 at his position, No. 78 nationally and No. 11 in the state. His long list of offers includes teams like Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, among others. His last visit to FSU was shortly after the July session of the Jimbo Fisher Camp and he is expected to make a return visit this fall for a game.
