FSU blew DE Lloyd Summerall away during his Junior Day visit.

While Florida State landed only one public commitment from its Junior Day event on Saturday, that doesn't diminish the groundwork FSU's new coaches laid for the classes of 2019 and 2020.

The Seminoles hosted more than 35 key prospects for the event, and they capitalized on the momentum they generated with their strong finish to the Class of 2018.

Warchant got a chance to speak with several major FSU targets at the conclusion of Saturday's Junior Day, and the 'Noles clearly are trending well with many of them. For all the latest, check out our Junior Day Insider Report below:

Summerall has 'Noles 'at the top of my list' ... or does he?

Early recruiting rankings can be extremely fluid, especially before the Rivals analysts get a good opportunity to see prospects in person -- whether that be in camps or during games.

That might help explain why Auburndale, Fla., standout defensive end Lloyd Summerall is only listed as a three-star recruit right now, despite already getting major attention from some of the top programs in college football.

Summerall, who is expected to get a bump in the recruiting rankings in the near future, already has offers from schools like Auburn, Georgia and Florida State. And on Saturday, the Seminoles got a chance to really grab his attention when he visited Tallahassee for Junior Day.

"My visit was great," Summerall said. "Loved the energy. Meeting the new coaches was great, and this staff is about, 'Doing something.' I really liked how I can be myself around the coaches. I spent the most time around Coach [Odell] Haggins and Coach [Mark] Snyder."

Summerall said his relationship with Haggins is strong because both of them are from the Polk County area. But this weekend also gave the 6-foot-6, 217-pound pass-rusher a chance to see how he fits with Snyder, the Seminoles' new defensive ends coach.

"They like that I'm quick and can be a great edge rusher, so that fits this defense perfectly," Summerall said.

While getting to know the assistant coaches is important, the most vital connection can often be with the head coach. And Summerall said he loved every minute he got to spend with Willie Taggart.

"He's really cool. He's like no other," the defensive end said. "I haven't committed yet. But they are at the top of my list. What sets them apart is I can relate to the environment and the coaching staff here at FSU."

Summerall said he planned to go back home and talk things over with his family. Then, he's going to take some more visits and start setting up his official visits. Summerall said FSU, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida are some of the main teams figuring in his recruitment.

Despite mentioning that FSU is at the "top" of his list, the Auburndale product went on to say he doesn't have a leader.

He did say that his trip to Tallahassee stood out from other college campuses he has visited.

"It's a home feeling. There isn't a place I've felt like that," Summerall said. "I didn't know how real it was until I got here. It's as real as it gets.'
