With the NCAA expected to open up in-person recruiting this summer, things are about to heat up even more for Florida State football recruiting. And the Seminoles already have been extremely productive early in the 2022 cycle, with seven commitments and a class ranked in the top 10 nationally.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN (FSU EXPECTED TO TAKE 4-5)
The Skinny on FSU & OL Justin Armella
There's no question that Julian Armella is a target the 'Noles have spent a lot of time on, and while many people talk about him being a Florida State legacy, the 'Noles have wisely focused more on the relationship side of things. OL coach Alex Atkins has led the charge, but head coach Mike Norvell is also personally involved in this recruitment, and that bond is growing strong. In fact, I'm told one of the first visits Armella is going to take will be to Florida State because he wants to see things for himself. That possibly could be for the spring game or when the dead period is lifted in June.
Despite rumors, there are no leaders for Armella, who is focused on the visits. I hear that LSU and Alabama are the biggest threats for FSU, but the Seminoles are very much in the mix. The upcoming visits will play a major factor.
The Skinny on FSU & OL Elijah Pritchett
Alex Atkins has done a really good job of connecting with Elijah Pritchett and his family from a personal standpoint, and that has caught the lineman's attention. I've also been told that Pritchett has done a lot of checking on how Atkins develops players, and that also has sparked solid interest in the 'Noles. He does plan to visit FSU in the spring and is currently just ironing out an exact date. There's not a leader just yet in this race. Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn are the teams, along with FSU, that are mentioned the most.
