Florida State freshman guard Malik Beasley took to Twitter on Monday evening to say he was declaring for the NBA Draft.

The move comes days after the Seminoles ended their season with a loss to Valparaiso in the NIT.

Beasley and fellow freshman Dwayne Bacon came to Tallahassee as highly touted prospects. They lived up to the billing as they both led FSU in scoring. Beasley, the team's second-leading scorer, averaged 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

"I have decided to take this amazing opportunity to enter the 2016 NBA Draft," Beasley wrote in a message posted on Twitter. "I am so grateful for what FSU has done for me on and off the court."

Beasley also issued a statement through FSU.

Beasley's announcement came around 9 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the FSU Basketball program tweeted a graphic of Bacon and Beasley dubbed "The Killer Bs," in reference to their respective campaigns.

"What a dynamic duo," is what the tweet said, when accompanied with the graphic.

It now remains to be seen if Beasley will be joined by Bacon.

Numerous NBA scouts have tracked the duo all season. There were at least two scouts during home ACC games, and when the Seminoles opened the NIT at the Civic Center, there were three NBA scouts.

Shortly after Beasley made his announcement, fellow freshman Terance Mann tweeted a photo of himself with Beasley and Bacon.

Rated by Rivals as a four-star prospect, Beasley signed with the Seminoles after playing high school basketball in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta.

Beasley had one of the strongest starts of any freshman in the nation. He threatened former Georgia Tech star Stephon Marbury's streak of 26 consecutive games with at least 10 points. Beasley fell short of tying the mark by two games.

According to FSU, Beasley will become the first player in program history to enter the NBA Draft after one season.

"Malik is a wonderful young man and we are very happy for him and his family," FSU coach Leonard Hamilton said in a statement. "He enjoyed a great freshman year and we are looking forward to watching him as he realizes his dreams.

"He was an outstanding player for our basketball team, is a young man of tremendous character and is an extremely hard worker."
