With their top three wide receivers moving on, Florida State has some significant experience to replace in 2017. Travis Rudolph, who bolted early for the NFL, was the Seminoles' leading receiver each of the past two seasons; and graduated seniors Kermit Whitfield and Jesus "Bobo" Wilson were both two-year starters. That leaves the Seminoles with a talented yet relatively untested wide receiver corps.

Returning Players in 2017

The Seminoles return five scholarship receivers from a year ago, and only two have really proven themselves on the college level -- rising juniors Nyqwan Murray and Auden Tate.

After playing sparingly in the first half of the 2016 season, Murray emerged as the Seminoles' top big-play threat down the stretch. Of Murray's 27 receptions, five went for touchdowns, including two in the Orange Bowl against Michigan. He also averaged 16.3 yards per reception, which ranked second among FSU's wide receivers behind Tate at 16.4. Tate finished second on the team with six receiving touchdowns.

The only other receivers who have caught passes on the college level are junior Da'Vante Phillips and redshirt sophomore George Campbell. Sophomore Keith Gavin played sparingly in his first season on campus, and most of his action came on special teams.
