Rivals100 linebacker Dax Hollifield of Shelby, N.C., has been on the road a lot lately, visiting schools across the Southeast and the mid-Atlantic area. However, it was a trip last week to Tallahassee and Florida State that seemed to stand out in certain ways.
Hollifield was one of several important visitors to check out the FSU campus last Thursday. And even after taking trips to schools like Alabama, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and North Carolina, the talented linebacker said he was struck by the positive vibes in Tallahassee.
"I really liked it," Hollifield said. "It was different than any other place I've been to, and I've been to a lot of schools. It was very good all the way around, relaxing with all the coaches and players."
Throughout the day, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker was able to take a tour of the campus, the facilities and the stadium. Hollifield, who made the trip with his family, said he enjoyed every aspect.
"It's very beautiful," he said. "Everything was close together. I felt comfortable throughout the entire day."
Hollifield said he also enjoyed getting to know FSU's assistant coaches, particularly inside linebackers coach Bill Miller and outside linebackers/defensive ends coach Brad Lawing.
