Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher told ESPN's Samantha Ponder on Friday afternoon sophomore defensive end Josh Sweat will "try to go" Saturday against Louisville.

Fisher said Sweat was injured on the last play of Thursday's practice and an MRI revealed "nothing."

Sweat missed the team flight late Thursday because of the MRI and joined the Seminoles on Friday. A source told Warchant earlier in the day Sweat appeared to be walking around without a knee brace at the team's hotel.

FIRST UPDATE:

Rumors surfaced Thursday night that sophomore defensive end Josh Sweat suffered an injury and would not play in Saturday's game at Louisville. Warchant.com confirmed that the sophomore defensive end was not on the team plane that arrived in Louisville late Thursday night. Numerous third party sources have indicated that the 'Noles' starting defensive end suffered a knee injury during Thursday's practice. However, it has not been completely ruled out that the speedy end could still make the trip and play Saturday.

As of Friday morning, Florida State representatives have failed to reply to requests to either confirm or deny the report.

* Matchup Analysis and Prediction: No. 2 Florida State at No. 10 Louisville

Sweat, a former five-star recruit, started nine games as a true freshmen and FSU's first two games of 2016. He finished last season with 41 tackles (5 for loss), two sacks, an interception, three pass break-ups, three quarterback hurries and three fumble recoveries. So far in 2016, Sweat has three tackles, one for loss, and two quarterback hurries.

Junior Jacob Pugh and true freshman Brian Burns are listed on the official pregame depth chart at Sweat's backups at the defensive end/Buck spot.
