Preseason Practice Primer: 'Noles open 2017 campaign today

As the preseason favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference and with a mega-showdown against Alabama looming in one month, the Florida State football team opens preseason practice later today.

The activities will begin with Jimbo Fisher's initial press conference at 1 p.m. ET, and they will continue with the actual first practice around 4:30 p.m. Be sure to stay connected with Warchant throughout the day for live coverage:

Fisher press conference

* Live Update thread on the Tribal Council during the press conference, beginning around 1 p.m.

First preseason practice

* The media will be allowed to watch the first two periods of practice

* An update thread will be posted on the Tribal Council after the open portion ends, probably close to 5:30 p.m.

* More updates will be posted after Fisher and selected players address the media, probably around 7 p.m.

Camp schedule (with media availability)

FSU will practice six days each week during preseason, but the media will be allowed to attend and conduct interviews only on certain days. Here is this week's schedule (tentative and subject to change):

* Tuesday -- early portion open to media, interviews with Fisher/players afterward

* Thursday -- early portion open to media, interviews with Fisher/players afterward

* Saturday -- early portion open to media, interview with Fisher afterward

* Sunday -- Media Day and Fan Day
