For hard-hitting linebacker Teradja Mitchell of Virginia Beach's Bishop Sullivan Catholic, the recruiting visits are finally over after his weekend trip to Florida State.

This was Mitchell's fourth visit to FSU, and likely the most important one. The four-star prospect said this trip was different than any of the others because he got to talk with head coach Jimbo Fisher about life outside of football, and he definitely liked what he heard.

"I love what Coach Fisher does with the players, and I never really got to talk with him about that before," Mitchell said. "They have this program called LYFE (Leaders Yearning For Excellence), which is for community service and how he does a great job of developing kids off the field as people. I was a little surprised with that."

What Mitchell was likely not surprised about was how badly Florida State's coaches would like to see him join the program. He said they broke down an extensive plan for how he would be used in the Seminole defense.

"We have always talked about that," he said. "But when we got there, we drew everything on the board for the way specifically I would be used. I was very, very pleased with what I saw."

As one might expect, Mitchell is expected to be a middle linebacker for the 'Noles. And the 6-foot-3, 232-pounder said the coaches showed him how they used Dontavious Jackson in that role this past season as a freshman.

"They want me to play 'Mike' -- that's one of their needs for this class and they want me to come in and be that leader," Mitchell said. "With Dontavious, they blitz him a lot, and that's one of my specialties as I love to blitz. So I like the fit a lot at FSU."

While those two areas were key in this visit, there was one that was perhaps even bigger -- what his mother and father thought of the Seminoles. Mitchell was especially concerned with how his mother felt, since she hadn't been on the FSU campus much.

As it turns out, she was blown away by Fisher and FSU from the beginning of the trip to the end.
