The Big Picture
The 2015 season was one of highs and lows for the Florida State offensive line.
Despite replacing four starters from the year before and coping with a seemingly endless string of injuries, the group helped pave the way for Dalvin Cook to break the school single-season record for rushing yardage. And while Cook deserves most of the credit for his success, he certainly couldn’t have done it with awful run-blocking.
So there were positives. But there were plenty of negatives as well -- from poor pass protection to major struggles in short-yardage situations to an alarming number of false start penalties.
As frustrating as those struggles were at the time, they could help set the Seminoles’ offense up nicely for improvement in 2016. Not only did those linemen get valuable game experience, but FSU’s coaches will have a wide variety of options to choose from this fall.
