Offensive tackle prospect Nyier Daniels was one of six prospects who made official visits to Florida State this weekend. Daniels, who is 6-foot-8 and 335 pounds, had been on the FSU campus twice earlier this spring on unofficial visits.

There were several things about this visit that stood out to the rising senior from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic High, including getting to spend time with FSU players and getting to know offensive line coach Alex Atkins a little better.

"It was phenomenal," Daniels said of his visit to FSU and Tallahassee. "They took me around, they took me out to eat and they just showed me what it was like to be a Seminole. I am here to look and see if the shoe fits."

One of Daniels' favorite things about his visit to FSU was getting to spend time with some of the Seminoles current players including his host, which was offensive tackle Robert Scott.

"The highlight of the trip to me was getting to spend time with the players because when you spend time with the players you get to see their point of view and why they came here," said Daniels. "They just didn't come here for any reason; they came here from the same reasons more than likely that I am coming here for."

He also enjoyed getting to spend some time around offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

"It was dope to spend the weekend with Coach Atkins because that's my position coach and I get to see how he rolls," continued Daniels. "My relationship is very strong with Coach Atkins. I think he is a cool coach. I think he could really help me get somewhere and accomplish what I want to accomplish."

Of course, he also got to spend more time with FSU head coach Mike Norvell.

"He is amazing," said Daniels of the FSU head coach. "He's just as (much) a part of the team as anybody else. He was telling me also, why I am being recruited and why I would be a fit here. He is really down to earth. He is a real relaxed, chill dude and family oriented."

And where does FSU stand with the big lineman after the conclusion of his official visit?

"They stack up very high for me," said Daniels. "How do I feel about them? I love Florida State."

Daniels also said the visit was just another step in the recruiting process. He also said that he will take official visit to Rutgers, Georgia and Texas over the next three weeks. Daniels also indicated it would like to make his commitment known prior to the start of his senior season.
