DE Jordan Wright says he's excited to have an offer from FSU.

One of the key remaining needs for Florida State's 2017 recruiting class has been the defensive end position, and the Seminoles recently expanded their options by extending an offer to Fort Lauderdale-Dillard standout Jordan Wright.

Wright, who is off to a hot start to his senior season, received the offer last weekend.

"I've been waiting for that offer since the start of the spring, so getting that offer means a lot," Wright told Warchant.com.

While Florida State has plenty of South Florida prospects on its roster, one in particular could have a large effect on Wright's interest level -- freshman defensive end Brian Burns.

"That's my cousin," Wright said. "We grew up together and played basketball together. Brian told me I need to come up soon as possible so we can get this done."

Wright, who currently is a three-star prospect but could see his ranking rise if he continues his impressive play, said he already has a tentative schedule in place for his visits.

"My visits are September 24th I'll be at Kentucky, and then on October 1st (North Carolina game) I'll be at FSU," he said. "I'm still deciding if it will be an unofficial or official visit. I don't have a top two or favorite, but it changes things a lot with the offer. If the visit to FSU goes well, that would probably change things even more."

Wright added he would also like to take visits to Alabama and Southern Cal. The main schools that have been recruiting him the hardest, Wight said, are Syracuse, Florida State, Miami, Kentucky and USC.
