Powder Springs, Ga., offensive lineman Brady Scott hasn't followed the typical timeline for a Florida State football recruit.
The Mt. Paran Christian School standout first made news by committing to South Carolina to play baseball. But after deciding that football was his first love, Scott decommitted from the Gamecocks.
He then took two visits to FSU, one this summer to attend Jimbo Fisher Camp and then another two weeks ago when he got to watch the 'Noles take on North Carolina. Scott also visited Mississippi State, but it doesn't appear he got the same vibe as he did in Tallahassee.
On Tuesday evening, he committed to Florida State.
"I'm really excited to be a Seminole. It's very cool," he said. "I'm very blessed to have this opportunity. I just really liked how I felt when I was down there. I prayed about it -- that this was where God wanted me to be. The comfort with FSU was very good with the players and coaches."
Scott, who stated that he is now 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, is slated to come into Florida State as a center prospect. But it's also not out of the question that he could play offensive tackle given his athletic ability and footwork.
