After what he described Thursday as an "eye-opening" official visit to Florida State, Rivals100 defensive back Daylen Everette discussed his future commitment plans and his thoughts on the Seminoles.

During the end of Everette’s sophomore year of high school and virtually all of his junior year, the NCAA was in the midst of an unprecedented 15-month dead period.

So the four-star IMG Academy cornerback was excited to finally make the trip to Tallahassee.

“The visit was all good, it was a real nice atmosphere,” Everette said. “I think from being on Cooms for over a year, it was just good to see everything in person.”

Now that he finally got to meet the FSU staff up close, Everette said, ‘They’re all cool and laid-back people who care for their players.”

He said that was especially true for FSU head coach Mike Norvell. Everette said he could tell how important Norvell values him as a prospect.

“He’s real passionate about what he does,” the Rivals100 member said. “I can feel myself being a priority to him by the way he talks to me. He cares for me.”

It’s always important for recruits to bond with their position coaches during visits, and Everette said he appreciates how FSU defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson relates to him.

“Most of the time when you’re talking to him, its not always football. He wants to know about your day, what you did,” Everette said. “How’s your family, stuff like that. That’s what I really like. It’s not always about football.”

During his trip, Everette was able to stop by a Florida State offseason workout and observe the team. He said he enjoyed seeing what a day of FSU practice might be like if here were to sign with the Seminoles.
