On the second day of Willie Taggart's first Florida State summer camp session, the Seminoles have landed a commitment from a promising young defensive back.

Orlando DB Demorie Tate, a 2020 prospect who was very impressive during Saturday's morning session of the FSU skills camp, announced his decision on Twitter.

Although he is only entering his junior year of high school, the Freedom High standout said he's known for awhile that he wanted to be a 'Nole.

"I've been waiting on this day for awhile," Tate said. "It's a dream come true. Coach [Willie] Taggart was really excited when I told him I'm ready to commit. ... Seminole blood runs in my family, so everyone was excited. This is where I always wanted to be. I can't wait to get there."

The 6-foot, 2-inch athlete could play a number of positions at the next level, but he said Florida State likes him as a cornerback or safety.

"Coach Kelly (receivers coach David Kelly) also wants me at receiver because I play there too and he liked me a lot," Tate said. "But I'm coming in as a DB."

Tate is the Seminoles' third commitment for the class of 2020.

He said he plans to visit again on June 22 and again in July.
