Seminoles land commitment from 4-star OL Qaeshon Sapp

Florida State's offensive line issues won't be fixed overnight, but the Seminoles took another positive step in that direction on Saturday with a commitment from four-star offensive guard Qaeshon Sapp.

Sapp, who stars at Lee County High in nearby south Georgia, has been considered a Florida State lean for quite some time. He developed a strong early relationship with FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins and some of the Seminoles' players, and he committed during his official visit this weekend.

Sapp is the Seminoles' second OL commitment for the 2022 class, joining fellow four-star recruit Aliou Bah.

He also is FSU's second commitment of the weekend, following Friday's decision by four-star defensive end Trevion Williams.

Sapp talked earlier this year about the bond he was building with Atkins, the Seminoles' second-year line coach.

"He's a father-figure [type of] person with how we talk," Sapp said. "When I first talked with him, it felt like I had known him for so long because he wasn't talking to me as a great player, but a person. I could feel the vibe.

"Whenever we talk on the phone, it's not about football or, 'Hey, we want you here,' or stuff like that. It's life situations. I like that a lot about Coach Atkins."

Sapp previously announced a final four of FSU, Florida, Georgia and Cincinnati. He is the Seminoles' 11th commitment for the Class of 2022.
