It’s time to look ahead to the upcoming season by breaking down the Warchant Top 40 -- a list of the 40 players we expect to have the biggest impact for the Florida State football team in 2017. (Note: This is not necessarily the 40 most talented players, but the players we believe will have the opportunity and capability to make the biggest impact this season.)

The list, which was compiled by Gene Williams and Ira Schoffel of Warchant.com, and Jeff Cameron of ESPN Radio Tallahassee, will be revealed in segments.

Earlier installments: Players 40-31 | Players 30-21 | Players 20-11 | Players 10-6

Player No. 5: Junior Wide Receiver Nyqwan Murray

Following a midseason injury to Jesus Wilson, then-sophomore wide receiver Nyqwan “Noonie” Murray saw a major increase in playing time. And the former three-star recruit made the most of his opportunity with several productive outings down the stretch. His most significant performance was a two-touchdown, 104-yard effort against Michigan in the Orange Bowl. His game-winning 12-yard touchdown catch against consensus All-America cornerback Jourdan Lewis showcased his talents on a big stage. Despite starting just two games, Murray finished the season with 27 catches for 441 yards and five touchdowns.

Note: With the graduation of Kermit Whitfield and early departure of Travis Rudolph, Murray will likely become Deondre Francois’ primary target in 2017. It will be interesting to see whether the talented receiver will be able to flourish when he becomes the primary focus of the opposing secondary.

Voting Recap: No. 4 by Ira; No. 7 by Jeff; No. 5 by Gene.
