Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County safety Lasiah Jackson's recruitment took off at the beginning of the year and hasn't slowed down since. The 6-foot-3 and 175-pound safety has doubled his offer count the last three months and has rocketed up the rankings and into the Rivals250.
Jackson was back on Florida State's campus for the second time this year and, while the Seminoles were a real player in his recruitment prior to his visit for Legacy Weekend, they vaulted themselves to the top after an extremely successful visit on Saturday.
"To be quite honest, FSU is probably my top school right now," Jackson said following his visit. "Just with how today went and what the future could possibly bring and where my head is at now. I'm really loving it here in Tallahassee."
The Rivals250 safety was offered by Florida State early in January and a week later Jackson found himself on campus for a junior day. Jackson has since set official visits to Stanford, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Florida State. Jackson will visit the Seminoles on June 13.
He has taken unofficial visits recently to all of those schools, with Clemson also entering the mix a few weeks ago. But no visit has had an impact on Jackson like this one did.
"I think it was because it was legacy weekend and you had all the old players that went to the league coming back and talking about their experiences," Jackson began on what made this visit so good. "For a moment I got emotional hearing everything about FSU. It's a great school and every time I come in, I learn something new. Coach Norvell has done a really good job of building that relationship with me and my mom. Knowing that I could have a coach like that in my future makes me happy."
Prior to leaving his visit on Saturday, Jackson spent a good amount of time speaking to the media about his takeaways from the player panel, where up to 12 former FSU players came back to campus to talk about their experiences.
"One of the legacy players was talking about his time here and just seeing what my future could be like here at FSU. It just made me think about how successful I could become with my drive, my motivation and the way I was brought up. My mom raised me to be great. Just having that discipline coming into college, I feel like I could be pretty successful here," Jackson added.

Jackson had conversations with current defensive back Ricky Knight III and former corner and Jacksonville Jaguar Jarrian Jones.
"I think the main thing for all the guys is having a coach that really cares for them. A lot of schools that you go to, they just want you to play football, but here — I definitely felt like it's more than just football," Jackson said.
Another name that has been in Jackson's ear about the Seminoles is Lee County teammate and Florida State signee Ousmane Kromah, who will get to Florida State in the summer. Kromah is going to attempt to be on campus the same day that Jackson is taking his official visit.
Jackson also got to see how the Florida State coaching staff went about teaching the secondary during practice early on Saturday morning.
"They definitely got it at practice. I could see the good times that the coaches would jump on the player but then right after that they would show them, 'You can do this better.' I feel like I'm definitely going to need that at the next level. Because I know sometimes when I mess up, I'm going to get down on myself and I'm going to need somebody that's going to be able to tell me that you can do it."
Jackson is planning on taking an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech on April 12 and then another trip to Alabama before a short break prior to his official visits, which start in late May.
But for now, the Seminoles are in pole position for Jackson.
