MELBOURNE, Fla. -- It's been a whirlwind few weeks for four-star Holy Trinity athlete Jashaun Corbin.
First, he committed to Tennessee. Then Florida State started turning up the heat, and Corbin has since decommitted from the Volunteers and opened up his recruitment.
During the latest stop on our Spring Recruiting Tour, we visited Corbin in Melbourne, Fla., where he was preparing for his spring game and getting ready for his final season of high school football.
"I'm a senior, so my leadership is something I'm taking advantage of," Corbin told Warchant. "Help the younger guys and mold them."
From an individual standpoint, Corbin is working on his route-running -- he plays receiver and running back -- and also on developing his body.
"I'm a lot bigger," Corbin said. "I would say from my junior year, I've put on 15 pounds, so I'm up to 195 pounds now."
Early in high school career, Corbin relied primarily on his speed and athletic ability to make plays at wide receiver. But after studying the game and gaining some confidence, he said everything started to slow down for him.
Soon, he was able to start making an impact at running back and on special teams as a return specialist.
"My sophomore year, I started to see my versatility," Corbin said. "I think it helps a lot because schools are looking for a guy that can make an impact in more ways than one. Punt returns, special teams ... I think it creates match-up problems for teams."
